Opening #3
The content I got to enjoy for this
section was pretty interesting though the first video about how art made the
world of storytelling was very boring. Other than that I liked the rest of the
videos I watched. I thought the comic video was extremely intriguing. It’s
impressive to see how storytelling has evolved into what it is today and the
way comics can be made interactively is really cool. I’m fascinated with how
the one comic diverged into other stories. It was like comic inception with
multiple stories within a story. Not only that, but the possibilities of where
they can take it are endless. They could make a whole comic world to immerse
the viewer in. I also enjoyed the Ted Talk videos which all kind of went hand
in hand. I love the idea that storytelling can climb walls and break societal
barriers because stories can make us see life from different points of view.
Also, it’s astounding that so little of the writers who submit their work to
agents actually get their stories chosen to publish. As a dabbler in writing,
this is a very scary reality because odds are my work will never be published.
But as shown in the videos, that is the beauty of writing and why the greats
become great. They keep writing and continue to master their craft. In a weird
way, the amount of failure is inspiring. The last video I want to talk about is
the remix one involving memes and ideas. I’ve realized that nothing we do is
completely original. Knowing this makes the way we treat intellectual property comical
because people think an idea they have is original enough to sue someone else
for copying. But that’s what you have to appreciate about artists: their egos.
I think the video has a great point that if we simply shared all the ideas with
no big threat of suing, who knows what me might create and figure out.

Laundry Documentary
This is a documentary about the laundry situation at Ohio University. I filmed it with a flip camera. I tried to keep it as short as I could, but there was too much good material.
